Doggy Day Care-job :)

I started working part time to day at a Doggy Day care center. The dogs are great. It's neat dealing with all of the different personalities. There was an Olde English Bulldog that liked to be petted. A Boxer decided to follow me around all morning.

My boys sniffed me up and down when I got home. I can tell that Wally went counter surfing, otherwise the house was exactly as I had left it. A year ago I never would have dreamed that I would be able to work part time. I'm only willing to work part time since I don't want to leave my boys alone for a full work day.

Doggy Day Care

Today I volunteered at a Doggy Day care center to see how well I would get along with the dogs. I hope to work there part time. I had a good time meeting the dogs. There we're a lot of Yellow Labs. A large Golden Retriever claimed me as his person of the hour by showing me uhm, doggy affection lol.

Wally and Bean sniffed me up and down. Throughout the rest of the day the boys kept sniffing me. I told the day care center that I can only work part time since I don't wish to leave my boys alone for most of the day. The welfare of my dogs comes first before outside activities for me. I've had people tell me that I'm crazy for feeling this way but I feel that my boys are full members of the family. I love the affection and love that the boys show me.

Best Bed Warmers

Bean doesn't like standing on the ice.

Dh takes a picture of an interesting ice pattern that has formed on the lake.

Bean and Wally save electricity. In the past I would get so cold at night that I had an electric blanket and would turn the heat up. Poor dh would be too hot. Now that I have Wally and Bean I only need 2 regular blankets. Bean and Wally both snuggle up against me keeping me very comfortable. It's cute when Wally lays with his head on mine and wraps his front paws around the top of my head.

Son cleans up Wally's mess

Schools we're off today due to the ice and snow. Wally was hanging out with ds down stairs. I hear an "Oh no!!", than "mom, Wally is bleeding. Wally must have cut his tongue because I couldn't find any cuts on his body. Wally decided to check out the kitchen sink. He managed to break a correlle ware dish and a cream brulee dish by knocking them out of the sink. Wally and Bean hung out with me while ds cleaned up the mess. Ds pitched in without having to be asked, I'm greatful that I have such a good natured son.

I had some food that I wanted to keep out of dog reach, so I stuck it in the toaster oven. Dh than informed me that Wally knows how to open the toaster oven. Apparently dh had put some waffles in the t. oven and Wally helped himself.

Cold weather

Bean wants comfort after his annual vet visit.

Wally and Bean check out the snow.

Something must be interesting.

Wally looks handsome in his coat.

Wally doing his favorite thing, snuggling.

Both Bean and Wally don't want to go out for their bed time walk due to the cold temperatures. Dh made the mistake of putting their coats on a few nights back for their night walk. Both boys we're to comfy and wanted to take their time and sniff. Without the coats the boys will run out and do their thing as fast as possible.

The long walk of the day is the noon time walk. I love the fact that we have the lakes and trails mostly to ourselves. A few days ago the boys managed to drag me on my stomach when they caught a hot scent. Walking is always an adventure with these two, I love their hound personalities.

Yesterday Wally went running with his daddy about 4 miles down the Savage trail. Apparently there was a large dog off leash (friendly) that ran up to Wally. To avoid a crash Wally ended up jumping over the other dog.

Bean Vet Visit

Bean had his annual checkup today. He is very healthy and at a good weight. Last year he was over weight because his leg still bothered him from getting hit by a car. This past year he has become capable of long walks and small runs.

We took Wally along, I was to nervous to have Wally home alone without Bean. I think that Wally was gloating at Bean on the examination table thinking ha ha, I get to watch you get poked and prodded. At first Wally was nervous but once he realized that it was Bean's checkup he had a good time exploring. Wally even put his paws up on the exam table to tease poor Bean. I asked if Wally was in the way, the vet chuckled and said that Wally was like a lot of older siblings.

I do have pictures of Bean and Wally that I need to transfer to this computer so that I can upload them here.

Pictures failed to download

I had wanted to post more pictures of Wally and Bean but the transfer to cd didn't work on dh's computer. I will probably have to download the pictures directly onto this pc.

Bean is getting to be quite stubborn about where he wants to walk. He anchors himself and refuses to move if he doesn't want to go in a certain direction. On Fri. Bean refused to turn around to go home. I finally had to pick him up and carry him. Wally is easy going about direction, he is just happy to be out and enjoy sniffing.
